What is a pivot point?

Pivot points derive from the previous period (often daily) H/L/C as a session reference: PP = (H+L+C)÷3.

R1/R2 are upside resistance and S1/S2 downside support. They are technical references, not guaranteed levels.

How to use

  1. Enter the previous high, low and close.
  2. Click Calculate to get PP, R1/S1 and R2/S2.

Formula

  • PP = (High + Low + Close) ÷ 3
  • R1 = 2×PP − Low; S1 = 2×PP − High
  • R2 = PP + (High − Low); S2 = PP − (High − Low)

Example

High 105, low 95, close 100 → PP 100, R1 105, S1 95, R2 110, S2 90.

Price above PP suggests bullish bias; below suggests bearish bias.
