Risk disclaimer
Decimals follow the token's contract; standards and bridge versions can differ.
Why convert to base units?
Most on-chain tokens are booked in their smallest unit (ERC-20 wei style), with UIs showing the decimal “coin” form.
E.g. an 8-decimal token has 10^8 base units per coin.
How to use
- Fill the token amount and decimals to get base units, or use base units and amount to recover decimals.
- Two of three inputs are enough; leave the unknown blank.
- Click Calculate for the conversion.
Formula
- Base units = amount × 10^decimals
- Amount = base units ÷ 10^decimals
- Decimals = log10(base units ÷ amount)
Example
8 decimals and 1.5 coins → 150,000,000 base units.
150,000,000 base units and 1.5 coins → decimals 8.
FAQ
Same as Gwei/satoshi?
Those are fixed units for ETH/BTC; this works for any token with arbitrary decimals.
Can decimals be fractional?
No — 0 to 30 integers only. Non-power-of-ten ratios have no solution here.
