What is APR?

APR advertises simple interest: Interest = Principal × Annual Rate × Days ÷ 365, with no reinvestment.

If interest is compounded (e.g. daily), the effective return is higher — that is the APY basis; use the compounding calculator for it.

How to use

  1. Enter the principal and annual rate in percent.
  2. Enter the number of days (default 365).
  3. Click Calculate to see interest and principal + interest.

Formula

  • Interest = Principal × Annual Rate × Days ÷ 365
  • Total = Principal + Interest

Example

10,000 principal at 5% for 365 days → interest 500, total 10,500.

For 30 days the interest is about 41.10.

FAQ

APR or APY — which is higher?

For the same nominal rate, APY (compounding) is higher, and more frequent compounding raises it further. This tool is the simple APR basis.

Which basis do staking/loans use?

Products often quote both. Match the basis you use to avoid overestimating earnings.
