Fee Breakeven Move Calculator

When both open and close pay fees, the price must move a bit more than the raw fee to truly break even.

Results

Fill in the inputs and click Calculate.

Risk disclaimer

Slippage and funding excluded; real costs are usually higher.

Why not exactly 2× the fee?

The closing fee is charged on the grown amount, so the required move is slightly above 2× the one-side fee.

With combined rate F: move = F ÷ (1 − F/2).

How to use

  1. Enter the combined two-side fee rate (%).
  2. Click Calculate for the minimum required move.

Formula

  • Combined F (%), one side F/2
  • Move needed = F ÷ (1 − F/2)

Example

Combined 0.2% → move ≈ 0.2 ÷ 0.999 ≈ 0.2002%.

Shorts need the same move downward.
