Risk disclaimer

This tool provides estimates based on a generic linear model. Contract specifications differ by exchange; confirm actual counts against the exchange.

What is a contract quantity calculator?

For USDT-margined linear contracts, margin × leverage gives notional, then dividing by price gives the number of contracts.

Real contracts have specific face values (e.g. 0.001 BTC per contract). This tool uses a generic linear model (1 contract = 1 base coin) and is an estimate.

How to use

  1. Enter the entry price.
  2. Enter available initial margin and leverage.
  3. Click Calculate to see notional and the number of contracts.

Formula

  • Notional = Initial Margin × Leverage
  • Contracts = Notional ÷ Entry Price (1 contract = 1 base coin)

Example

BTC at 20,000 with 200 margin and 10x: notional 2,000 → 0.1 contracts.

The same margin at 20x: notional 4,000 → 0.2 contracts.

FAQ

How do real exchanges convert contracts?

Actual counts depend on contract face value and multiplier (e.g. 0.001 BTC per contract). Check the exchange spec; this tool is a linear estimate.

Do maintenance margin and liquidation limit the count?

They reduce usable margin in practice. This tool only estimates what initial margin can support.
