Risk disclaimer

This calculator provides estimates for informational purposes only. Actual results may vary due to exchange rules, fees and market conditions. High leverage carries liquidation risk.

What is a leverage calculator?

Leverage = Position Value ÷ Initial Margin. It shows how much your exposure is magnified relative to the margin you provide.

The exchange's “max leverage” is only an upper limit; your actual leverage is set by your margin and position size.

How to use

  1. Enter the entry price and quantity.
  2. Enter the initial margin actually used.
  3. Click Calculate to see position value and effective leverage.

Formula

  • Position Value = Entry Price × Quantity
  • Leverage = Position Value ÷ Initial Margin

Example

Entry 20,000 with quantity 0.5: position value = 10,000. With 1,000 margin, effective leverage = 10x.

To keep leverage at or below 5x for the same position, you need at least 2,000 margin.

FAQ

Max leverage vs actual leverage?

Max leverage is the platform ceiling. Actual leverage equals position value ÷ your margin and is usually far lower.

Is higher leverage better?

No. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses; higher leverage sits closer to the liquidation price.
