Risk disclaimer
Risk-budget math only; slippage and gaps can make the real stop fill differ from the price.
What is a stop-constrained entry?
With a fixed stop and loss budget, the entry price is capped: a long cannot buy above the limit without breaking the budget at the stop.
Risk distance = tolerable loss ÷ quantity, added to (or subtracted from) the stop.
How to use
- Choose direction.
- Enter stop price, tolerable loss and planned quantity.
- Click Calculate for the entry limit and per-unit risk.
Formula
- Per-unit risk = tolerable loss ÷ quantity
- Long entry cap = stop + per-unit risk
- Short entry floor = stop − per-unit risk
Example
Long stop 19,500, loss budget 500, qty 1 → per-unit risk 500, entry cap 20,000.
Buying above 20,000 would exceed the 500 budget when stopped at 19,500.
FAQ
Relation to the stop-loss price calculator?
That tool derives the stop from the entry; this one derives the entry from the stop — complementary.
