What is an ROE calculator?

ROE measures PnL against initial margin: ROE = PnL ÷ Initial Margin × 100%. It shows how much leverage magnifies your return rate.

It uses the common linear USDT formula for gross PnL (fees and funding excluded), ideal for a quick look at capital efficiency.

How to use

  1. Choose long or short.
  2. Enter entry, exit, quantity and leverage.
  3. Click Calculate to see gross PnL, initial margin and ROE.

Formula

  • Long PnL = (Exit − Entry) × Quantity
  • Short PnL = (Entry − Exit) × Quantity
  • Initial Margin = Position Value ÷ Leverage
  • ROE = PnL ÷ Initial Margin × 100%

Example

Long: entry 20,000, exit 22,000, qty 1, leverage 10x → gross PnL 2,000, margin 2,000, ROE = 100%.

Short: entry 20,000, exit 19,000, qty 1, leverage 20x → gross PnL 1,000, margin 1,000, ROE = 100%.
