Ethereum (ETH) Futures Calculator & Trading Tools

Calculate ETH/USDT futures PnL, liquidation price, leverage & margin, position size and funding; understand Gwei/wei precision and on-chain gas costs, and run quick hypothetical scenarios.

Ethereum ETH: the second-largest futures scene

Ethereum is the second-largest crypto asset with a deep DeFi and liquid-staking ecosystem, and ETH/USDT perpetuals are a mainstream pair. Besides longs and shorts, many traders pair spot or staking exposure with hedging and funding carry.

This page looks at the calculators from an ETH perspective: formulas are identical to BTC; the real differences are ETH's unit precision and on-chain gas costs.

Four numbers ETH traders check most

  • Futures PnL: net profit and ROE for long/short ETH/USDT (futures PnL calculator).
  • Liquidation price: the trigger level reserved for the position — check it before your stop (liquidation price calculator).
  • Leverage and margin: initial margin from ETH quantity, price and leverage (margin/leverage calculators).
  • Position size: suggested ETH quantity from account risk and stop distance (position size calculator).

ETH units and precision quick reference

  • 1 ETH = 10⁹ Gwei = 10¹⁸ wei; on-chain gas prices are usually quoted in Gwei.
  • A transaction fee = gas used × gas price; e.g. 21,000 gas × 30 Gwei = 0.00063 ETH (example).
  • USDT ETH contracts commonly display 0.01 USDT price ticks and 0.01 ETH quantity steps (example — venue-dependent).
  • Convert Gwei to ETH and dollars with the Gwei-to-ETH converter before transfers or cross-venue moves.

Hypothetical price example

Example (price assumed): with ETH at 3,000 USDT, a 10× long of 2 ETH (notional 6,000 USDT) needs about 600 USDT of initial margin — the same notional as the BTC example, with identical formulas.

The real difference is granularity: at lower prices, quantities are smaller and finer, so normalize contracts/quantities to one unit before using the calculators to avoid precision errors.

Prices on this page are hypothetical examples, not forecasts or advice. Contract specs (size, maintenance margin, funding and fees) follow your exchange's current rules.
