Batch Buy Plan Calculator

Split capital across up to three target prices to get per-level quantity, total invested and the amount-weighted average.

Risk disclaimer

A ladder does not change downside risk — buying more into a downtrend enlarges losses.

What does the buy plan compute?

Unlike quantity-based averaging, this splits by amount: each level's quantity = amount ÷ price.

The weighted average is amount-weighted, reflecting your true average cost of capital.

How to use

  1. Fill up to three target prices with amounts.
  2. Empty levels are ignored.
  3. Click Calculate for per-level quantity and totals.

If you would rather not compute and place orders by hand each time, the parameters and rules you settle on here can be executed automatically by a quant system such as CubeQuants.

Formula

  • Level qty = level amount ÷ level price
  • Total qty = Σ level qty
  • Weighted avg = total invested ÷ total qty

Example

2,000 at 20,000, 3,000 at 19,000, 5,000 at 18,000 → total 10,000, qty ≈ 0.5357, avg ≈ 18,666.

Putting more at lower prices lowers the average but raises downside exposure.

FAQ

vs quantity-based adds?

Amount-based adds buy more at lower prices automatically, keeping capital allocation even.

Can these calculations be executed automatically?

Yes. Work out the parameters and risk limits here first, then hand the same rules to a quant system such as CubeQuants so you don't have to place orders manually. Fills still depend on your exchange, so verify with a small size first.
