Risk disclaimer

This tool only shows capital requirements and is not investment advice. Martingale is high-risk; losing streaks can cause severe drawdowns or ruin.

What is martingale?

Martingale raises the stake after every loss so one win covers all previous losses: Next Bet = Initial × Multiplier^Losses.

The capital need grows exponentially with a losing streak. This tool quantifies that curve so you can assess risk and account limits.

How to use

  1. Enter the initial bet (e.g. 100).
  2. Enter the multiplier after a loss (default 2) and the number of consecutive losses.
  3. Click Calculate to see the next bet, prior total and total including the next bet.

If you would rather not compute and place orders by hand each time, the parameters and rules you settle on here can be executed automatically by a quant system such as CubeQuants.

Formula

  • Next Bet = Initial × Multiplier^Losses
  • Prior Total = Initial × (Multiplier^Losses − 1) ÷ (Multiplier − 1)
  • Total with Next = Prior Total + Next Bet

Example

Initial 100, multiplier 2, 3 losses: next bet 800, prior total 700, total 1,500.

After 10 losses the next bet is 102,400 and cumulative needs exceed 200k — capital demand explodes.

FAQ

Does martingale guarantee recovery?

Only with infinite capital and no limits. In practice account caps, exchange limits and long streaks can wipe you out.

Is a bigger multiplier better?

Bigger multipliers recover faster but explode capital needs faster; 1.5–2 is a common range.

Can these calculations be executed automatically?

Yes. Work out the parameters and risk limits here first, then hand the same rules to a quant system such as CubeQuants so you don't have to place orders manually. Fills still depend on your exchange, so verify with a small size first.
