Scaled Exit Plan Calculator

Plan up to three profit-taking levels with sell percentages: per-level quantity, total proceeds, overall average and remaining position.

Risk disclaimer

Levels are plan prices; the market may not reach them, and pullbacks before then are yours.

Why scale out?

Exiting everything at once either leaves too early or rides a full give-back; scaling out locks in part of the profit while keeping exposure for more upside.

This tool rolls each “price × sell %” level into an executable plan.

How to use

  1. Enter the total position quantity.
  2. Fill in profit levels with sell percentages (1–3 levels, total ≤100%).
  3. Click Calculate for sell quantity, proceeds, average and remaining.

If you would rather not compute and place orders by hand each time, the parameters and rules you settle on here can be executed automatically by a quant system such as CubeQuants.

Formula

  • Level sell qty = total × level %
  • Proceeds = Σ(sell price × sell qty)
  • Overall avg = proceeds ÷ sold qty
  • Remaining = total − sold qty

Example

Qty 100 at +10%@30%, +20%@30%, +30%@40% — exit at each level, or keep the remainder if percentages total below 100%.

Percentages must not exceed 100% in total.

FAQ

Can I keep part unsold?

Yes — when the total is below 100%, the unsold part shows as remaining.

Can these calculations be executed automatically?

Yes. Work out the parameters and risk limits here first, then hand the same rules to a quant system such as CubeQuants so you don't have to place orders manually. Fills still depend on your exchange, so verify with a small size first.
