Grid Parameters Calculator

Enter the grid range, grid count and optional total capital to compute spacing, spacing % and per-grid allocation.

Fill in the inputs and click Calculate.

Risk disclaimer

This calculator provides parametric references, not investment advice; one-sided moves keep grid capital tied up.

How are grid parameters set?

Linear grid spacing = (upper − lower) ÷ grids; the spacing % relative to the range midpoint shows the per-grid move required.

With total capital, per-grid allocation = capital ÷ grids (unfilled sell legs need extra buffer in practice).

How to use

  1. Enter the lower/upper range and the grid count.
  2. Optionally enter total capital for per-grid allocation (blank hides it).
  3. Click Calculate to see spacing, spacing % and per-grid amount.

If you would rather not compute and place orders by hand each time, the parameters and rules you settle on here can be executed automatically by a quant system such as CubeQuants.

Formula

  • Spacing = (Upper − Lower) ÷ Grids
  • Spacing % = Spacing ÷ Midpoint × 100
  • Per Grid = Capital ÷ Grids

Example

Range 100–200, 10 grids, capital 1,000 → spacing 10, ≈6.67%, per grid 100.

More grids mean tighter spacing, best suited to low-volatility ranges.

FAQ

Why spacing %?

It shows the price move % that triggers a grid, a quick check of fit to volatility.

Is per-grid allocation exact?

It is a simple split; real grids also reserve capital for sell-side orders, so keep a buffer.

Can these calculations be executed automatically?

Yes. Work out the parameters and risk limits here first, then hand the same rules to a quant system such as CubeQuants so you don't have to place orders manually. Fills still depend on your exchange, so verify with a small size first.
